Hiking in Arches!

The first morning we hiked the trail to Landscape Arch then on to Double O Arch. We saw 8 arches on this trail alone!

And we got a workout as Aaron and I hiked one baby each the distance of 5 miles roundtrip on a trail the park guide deemed "strenuous"

The trail followed some really great pathways and gave us magnificent views of the country. Aaron's favorite part of Arches National Park is the trail to Double O, and, in particular, the part of the trail that led us over a rock fin.

We got lots of comments on this trail from other hikers, mostly comments about how crazy, amazing, brave, etc. we were to hike the trail with our kids on our back.

And even though I didn't feel crazy, amazing, or brave as I did it, I didn't mind the comments!

We were told by a fellow hiker that we should continue through the arch for a better view so we did so, where we were told (another comment) that we must really be in shape for making it this far with our kids. Then we heard him go back to the other side and tell his fellow hikers (who waited at the other side) that "a woman with a baby made it" to the other side so they could too!

We got a kick out of this... There was one point on the trail that was FULL of cairns (the pile of rocks that guide you on the trail) even in the cracks on the side of the rock!

Which way could the trail go?!

Sleeping cuties at the end of the trail...
